
Government of India have launched a National net work of Building Centres in the entire nation and started Building centers in all the districts during 1988-89. The main objectives are :
- Transfer of Technology relating to Building Construction from Lab to Land. Production of cost effective building materials / components with special focus on renewable energy sources.
- Skill upgradation and training of masons, plumbers , carpenters, other building related work force including professionals and entrepreneurs in latest construction practices.
- Creating a pool of trained rural/urban construction work force to meet the demand needs of house construction.
- To act as Information and guidance center on Housing and Building construction.
88 Nirmithi Kendras/ Sub Nirmithi Kendras are established in the state at district level & divisional level.
Out of 88 Nirmithi Kendras/Sub Nirmithi Kendras, HUDCO has sanctioned45 Building centers and the remaining 43 Sub Nirmithi Kendras were established by APSHCL. Production centers are also established under the control of Nirmithi Kendras at feasible section head quarters. |
